Help/Install
When does my eSIM start?
Most travel plans activate when the eSIM first connects on a network in the destination—not necessarily at purchase.
Short answer
Most travel plans activate when the eSIM first connects on a network in the destination—not necessarily at purchase—so you can install early and land connected.
Details
- Install on Wi‑Fi before you fly (see install before you fly).
- You can usually leave the travel line off or data off until you arrive if you want to avoid connecting early.
- When you land, enable the eSIM line and data roaming if required so the plan can start and you get data.
Tips
- Validity length (for example 7 or 30 days) is measured from activation per your plan details on the account page.
- Buying or installing alone typically does not start the clock for standard travel plans.
Escalation
If your plan appears expired or active at the wrong time, contact support@puffinfi.com with your order reference and ICCID from Account → My eSIMs.
